Hey guys, how has your week been? Mine has been okay but there are always things I can’t figure out. I did go to the new H & M store in Perth and it is pretty fancy, you feel like you might even be shopping in Europe or London. If you haven’t been yet check it out!

I decided not to write a blog post last week as I felt like it would not be useful and besides everyone is human, right 😉 ?

Today I thought I would write about something I don’t think many of the closest people to me know – That I gained 20kg in a year. This is not something I bring up that much, mostly because it’s often not necessary to tell people, but it is and always will be a very important part of my life. If anyone out there is having issues with their weight remember you are not alone.

I wont go into too much detail and I may even go into more in the future, who knows….

It was the start of 2010 and for the past 1.5 years I had been doing whatever I could to lose weight as I thought the skinnier I was the happier I would be and I would be able to work in fashion as a model. I was the least happy I have ever been and for anyone who has ever experienced sever food restriction and over exercise will know it kills all the fun out of life and you are constantly in survival mode and low energy.

I also had not had my period during those 1.5 years, which is so unhealthy, and despite going to the doctors about it they had never suggested it was because I was not eating enough and over exercising.

Going back a bit I should also let you know that I suffered with eating problems as well when I was about 10, in freaking primary school, its one way to ruin your childhood! I went to an eating disorders specialist a few times and it seemed to help but I was so young and didn’t really understand too much. My eating habits did improve from then until I finished high school.

At the start of 2010 I was involved in a car accident and that’s when I stopped being so restrictive with my eating and didn’t exercise as much as although nobody was not hurt, I was in a lot of shock.

Through multiple factors I went from weighing 62kgs (which for someone who is 180cm and weight training is too light) to 82kg in a very short amount of time, see below picture.

I am definitely in a better place now. I try to always have a balanced approach towards the way I approach food and life in general. If you are having any of these issues its important to reach out for help.

Keep moving through in life and keep enjoying the things you love, there is no point in looking after your physical health if you don’t use all of that awesome energy into a life that makes you truly happy and you probably already know what that looks like, just go out and find it, its waiting for you. Be healthy but have fun!

Also I hope you can take some inspiration from the photos, how awesome are hats? I feel like a real blogger now I have one:)

Take care and dare to be seen.

Anna 🙂
