How The Hell Are You Meant To Know What Career Is Right For You?

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

Hey guys! I hope you are having a productive week so far and if your not, do you know what is stopping you?

Recently I have been putting in a lot of effort to try and work out the career path I should be taking. My dream is to put 100% effort into a job I love and hopefully make a small difference in the world, like I am sure a lot of you want to do as well. At the moment though I would describe my efforts as lukewarm across my work and that is incredibly frustrating as it really impacts over a wide spectrum of your life.

The understanding I have of how lucky I am to be born in a first world country and have great health motivates me even more to work out the right job for me as I know if I was born under different circumstances my life would be completely different.

I am going to continue my search and hopefully come up with some answers soon. I thought I would write about this topic as I have a feeling a lot of other people are also wondering and may want answers as to what direction to take. I know the answers will come but they do require some work, unless you are lucky and just know, I wish I was you!

This will be kind of short, but if you want more details just send me a message and I would love to help.

The beginning of the year is when I probably started trying to work out what I should be doing as I had got frustrated at where my life was heading which was nowhere! Also after reading many self help books there comes a time when you have to put at least some of it in action ;).

To start with I started out by getting experience running my own Personal Training business (more on that another time) this took me way out of my comfort zone, but it had to be done.

Once things had settled down for me a bit there I was able to start focusing on learning about success and who I was as a person in anyway I could afford. There are a lot of affordable things out there and people even speak to you for free!

I researched a few of Perth’s most successful people in business to understand what steps they took to get there using Linkedin (creepy but it works haha).

I read books and listened to audio books, the ones I found most helpful were:

Think and Grow Rich By Napolean Hill (if you can master this your set!)

The Success Principles by Jack Cainfield

Spirit Junkie by Gabrielle Bernstein

Light is the new Black by Rebecca Campbell

There are more, I just think those are particularly good.

I Spoke to a counselor to sort out some of my issues, so I could get my head right (or better haha). This is very helpful as it allows you to do self-reflection and view your issues in a new light as well as looking back on your past to see what your interests where as a child. Also it is great just talking to someone that you can trust that will not judge you or tell anyone your secrets.

I went to a few workshops on fitness to see what other people in the industry are doing, you could do the same for the industry you are currently in.

Last week I went to a career counselor, who was lovely. I filled out a very helpful career survey, which actually confirmed what I thought I new about myself and gave me some career options to think about.

I also started this blog as way to get some creativity in my life :D.

I have ordered a book called The Art of Work by Jeff Goins, so hopefully that is helpful.

But above all just be a good person and people will like you no matter what your job is.

Hopefully you found this helpful and if not, just take a look at the pretty pictures taken in Fremantle ;).

Thanks for reading and take care of yourself.

Until next time,

Anna xo

Remembering You are a Human

Processed with VSCO with s3 preset

Hey guys,

How is your week going? I thought I would cover a topic that has taken me awhile to understand – The concept that everyone is a human, I know sounds crazy obvious but a lot of the way I have acted, treated myself and have been treated by others in the past has made me feel less human, so here is what I mean :). Everyone you come across in life is the same as you on so many levels, we all need love, shelter, food,to feel safe and be supported regardless of how your life is going and  how much money you have in the bank.

Everyone has the ability to do great things and its so easy to start seeing people as less then you. A large majority of the time people are trying there best, its just they have not yet had the experience that you may have at the present time so it could seem like you are superior, but with time that person will flourish if that’s what they choose to do.

Putting someone on a pedestal is also equally as bad as you are really only protecting yourself by thinking you are not good enough or cant achieve what that person has, remember you are both human so you can! It will require a lot of changes but you will never be closer to the people you admire if you do nothing about it.

I guess by writing this I hope that your future interactions with people you are able to remember they are just like you and if you treat them with the knowledge that everyone is just after the basic things in life your interactions will start to change for the better. Remember life is an awesome journey that if you start embracing amazing wonderful things start to happen.

Just some things to think about 😉

The outfit I am wearing is definitely one of my favorite combinations. The wrap around top adds a refreshing twist and roses always remind me of romance and beauty :D. This skort is literally the best thing you can ever buy and expect to see me wearing it many more times, so versatile and classic!

These photos where taken around the cow art exhibition throughout Perth and Northbridge, so cool! If you live in Perth and haven’t seen them yet come in and start exploring, there are 40 cows to be found!

Thank you so much for reading and remember life will always be better if you keep pushing forward no matter what your circumstances are.

Take care, until next time.

Anna xo 🙂

Accepting Your Body Image

Processed with VSCO with c2 preset

Hi guys,

How are you going? It is actually kind of challenging thinking up blog post ideas that I think could be useful. Although the more you do things the easier they become, or something like that ;).

I thought I would start with some of my thoughts on body image, although this might not be conclusive it could also help you feel more comfortable with the way you look and feel about yourself. As well as opening the door to exploring the awesome world of weight training and all of its amazing benefits.

Being healthy and fit is a massive part of my life, the feeling of eating enough so you are not left feeling hungry but also for enjoyment is the best feeling. On that same note, training for enjoyment and to not to punish yourself is very empowering.

Sadly most people I talk to are always telling me they want to look more toned, although I think I understand where they are coming from I can’t help but feel slightly sad that society has told us that females should look a particular way, that men should look muscly and strong but women should look slim like a model. While I think that models look beautiful a lot of the time they are just really lucky to have good genetics and often it is unrealistic to achieve that look.

I really think that we should redefine what an ideal body image is. In my opinion its one that you can easily maintain through a healthy diet and regular exercise, no matter what that exercise might be.

If you decide to start training with weights you will find that you will start looking different, like you do train. You will also feel what it feels like to be able to get stronger and lift something heavier then you could a few months ago and this should be a very uplifting feeling, not one of stress and fear of becoming muscly. When I see females who look like they train with heavy weights I know that they are doing their best to look after their body, deciding to do what is right for them as well as lifting to feel amazing and invincible!

So guys, please don’t worry about looking too muscly, with the right training program you will look awesome and strong (just like me hahaha), no matter what your genetics are. As well the muscle you will gain is a direct reflection of the amazing mental strength you have gained with your consistent hard work and dedication.

You need to celebrate your body and all the amazing things it can do!

Enough about the serious stuff!…..

This outfit I put together is a take on the layered look. To achieve this I  put two basics from my wardrobe together that are made out of different materials and paired them with some blue jeans. Lace adds a feminine touch and is complemented by the solid construction of the black singlet. This is a great transitional outfit especially when you want to reinvent some basics you already have. As for my awesome yin yang bag! My sister recently returned from her holiday in the U.K. and brought it back for me, so cute thanks Sophie!

What have you been thinking and wearing this week, I would love to know.

Take care and thanks for reading, until next time.

Anna 🙂 XX

Who the Hell is Anna Stevens and Why Should I Listen to Her?

Processed with VSCO with h1 preset

Hi there, I thought I would explain a little more about this blog and the message I am trying to put across, although I am sure it will change over time, all good things change over time ;).

I wanted to create my own space in this world, I have admired people for too long and always thought I was not good enough to be able to create something creative and empowering for others to enjoy. All you can do is try so that’s what I am doing, as Richard Branson says: “Screw it, Lets do it”. I hope by me doing this it can inspire you to create something in this world as well.

This blog will not only serve as a platform to share outfits and photos I have created myself along with other things I do to live a good life. I am also going to provide you with valuable information about listening to your heart and pursuing things even when you don’t know the outcome.

Now, onto the outfit…. 😀 This outfit I wore for Halloween, I didn’t feel like wearing a costume, I just wanted to look kind of dark and mysterious. I really like the purple lipstick, which is by Jeffree Star called I’m Royalty.

I do love wearing black so although I did make this outfit for Halloween I would still wear it on a regular night out. I really like detailing on the clothes and although you can’t see it the top is actually backless along with my awesome tights that add an edge of allure and excitement to what would be a plain black look.

What did you wear for Halloween?

Thanks for reading and please ask me questions, I want to help!

Peace, Anna 🙂 xx

Why you already are a #GIRLBOSS

I thought I would write my thoughts on what I think it means to be a #GirlBoss as this term is literally everywhere at the moment. I have read the book #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso and personally got the message that anything is possible if you work hard and do things you enjoy which is what I think a #GirlBoss is as well.
Not everyone wants to open up theirown business for many reasons. If you feel called to be a teacher or engineer often you will be employed although you can still do your best at the job.
If in life you feel called to open your own business, then that’s what you should do and still do your best at the job. The world needs all types of people to make it awesome. As long as you are doing a job that you feel uses your unique talents then you are already a #Girlboss (or the male equivalent😉). So just do things that feel right to you, be a nice person and forget about the rest.

Thanks for reading! Peace, Anna

Living a full life

Since I have started this blog, I need to commit to it. I really hope that making a blog helps you see how easy it is to create your own things in life. For me it wasn’t until last year where I went to Europe that I realized that I can make things, using people who I idolize as inspiration and not people to be jealous of or to put on pedestals.

I am making this blog as life is too short not to do awesome things and to let go of the outcome! Also if you want to start a blog, you should do it! Remember everyone is different and has there own story to tell, don’t worry about the competition because only you can write from your heart!

This blog will be focusing on accepting yourself and becoming more of yourself. I work as a Personal Trainer, I believe that maintaining your health and fitness should be fun and easy to achieve with the right plan and is vital of you are going to live a full and creative life. in an easy to achieve way is so important when it comes to living a full life. Although exercising consumes an hour of your day it actually adds more hours of productivity to everyday.

Helping people everyday made me want to help myself and have an outlet where I can express my creativity in what ever way I feel like.

Remember everyone is human and just trying there best in life.

Thanks for reading!
Anna 🙂

Welcome!

I have decided to create a blog that I hope can be a useful place for others to go to find inspiration and to live a full life. The world is changing and with that comes the need to become more you, to expand and offer the world what only you can. I hope to inspire you to become more you, whatever that might be and to remember to not worry about the competition because as long as you are doing what comes from your heart then the world needs it.
This blog was made to help me but through that process I want it to help others add more playfulness, creativity and joy to their life.

I hope to empower other people through dressing amazingly, creating opportunities to meet like minded people as well as using exercise, meditation and healthy eating to help you live to the best of your ability.
